It seems to me that Milobo’s Musings on Managing the Modern Classroom could just as well be generalized to Managing the Modern Attention Span.

I don’t think I’m all alone in sometimes finding the challenges of maintaining a lifestyle of lifelong learning — particularly in a seemingly increasingly dumbed down corporate workplace — every bit as challenging as any iPod-implanted tween might find memorizing the quadratic formula for the first time.
