[Reaction to silverton]This looks awesome. I look forward to the day that our tribe finally and totally blows the doors off of geophysical location bias at such events via immersive, seamless, unbiased, ubiquitous telepresence that is finally ascribed 100% "equal attendance value." That is to say, we get to the point that we stop saying to one another, "well, you weren't REALLY there" simply because one's BODY isn't present for an event. We are REALLY there and you are REALLY here, to the extent we are willing to challenge our evolutionary meat puppet biases.http://twitter.com/missrogue/status/4058632017

[Reaction to silverton]From WhuffieBank FAQ: "when someone gets retweeted for something they exclusively said, that will have a bigger impact on the algorithm." Comment: This seems like it could have inadvertent #blogkill effects. Perhaps enable users to register a blog or other site to which links have equal impact? Very exciting to see this development!

The Intention Economy, Revisited
http://soup.silverton.palo-alto.ca.us/post/28713264/The-Intention-Economy-Revisited
We've been wrestling with these ideas of Attention Economy, Intention Economy for several years now; however, approximately 90% of the CONCEPTIONS of what Attention/Intention economies ARE, in my opinion, amount to little more than thin veneers atop an otherwise unchanged 1850's style industrial era marketplace. The so-called Advanced Nations are so far beyond the challenges of pumping out "stuff" that they now must Manufacture Scarcity in order to keep their security blankets wrapped tightly around their pathologically insecure and unsustainable resource skews. The rise of the Global Cognition Grid is changing so much more than the mere method by which people find a better deal on gym socks or Ferrari's. It has changed, and is in the process of Accelerating Changes, to the very nature of Human Interrelation Itself; the implications of which are vastly more significant than these superficial, bolt-on novelties that receive the bulk of academic and media attention. It's taken me a few years to really begin to understand how to communicate these differences and my plans keep changing as to how best to go about ramping up that communication. I put down about 100 pages toward a draft of a "science FACTion" novel a few years ago, but then realized that the topics I was engaging, and wished to engage, were far too prevalent to TODAY to effectively place in The Future.Relatively recent observations by the likes of New Scientist (Nov 2008) onlyserve to affirm that current working bias. So, yes, I'm increasingly convinced that there is simply no time left to dabble in creating fictive futures. The evolutionary selection pressure -- an intuitional urgency pressing us toward Rapid Scenario Sculpting, Intention Selection, Design, Prototype, and Build -- has become too palpably overwhelming to ignore. This is particularly true in the face of what might otherwise result in culturally chronic, or perhaps even species-terminal STSD."We're soaking in it" -- The Future -- that is, for those share that bit of historical cultural context. We are, each and every day, choosing, designing, and building our own future. So go ahead and take some inspiration from all the fiction we've ever read, but then let's get to work, with intention, to Make It So. Rating: 0/5
